Community Foundation Grant Application Deadline July 18th
The Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications for its July 18th grant application deadline. The Foundation encourages non-profit organization serving West Chester and/or Liberty Townships to apply for funding. All application must be submitted by 4:00PM. For more information contact Melissa Benedict, Vice President of Donor Services at 874-5450.

Foundation Awards $14,600 in Community Grants
The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty’s Board of Directors recently awarded $14,600 to local non-profit organization providing services to members of our community. These grants were awarded from the Community Grantmaking Fund held at the Foundation to support programs working to improve the quality of life for residents in the West Chester/Liberty area.

$2,500 was awarded to the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra to support the Voice of America’s “Concert on the Lake”. The event scheduled for July 13th is open to all members of our community and will feature music from the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra, as well as the West Chester Symphony. At the end of the evening, guests will enjoy a firework display.

The American Red Cross was awarded $2,000 to support their Mass Care Disaster Responder Program in Butler County.

$7,500 was provided to the Hearing, Speech and Deaf Center of Greater Cincinnati to support their West Chester office. The office located off of Beckett Road provides speech pathology and speech mapping services to area residents. In addition, staff spends time in local schools educating area children on hearing loss and prevention techniques.

$2,600 was granted to the Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation and the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown to support their new Heart Center facility. The Heart Center provides state-of-the-art care to patients in our area.

“The Foundation is excited to provide grant support to these local charities working to improve our community. We look forward to monitoring the impact that our grant funding will have on these programs,” said Melissa Benedict, Vice President, Donor Services. “Without the support of our local community, we would not be able to have the opportunity to partners with these organizations making a difference.”

Heroes Fund Raffle Winners Announced
The Heroes Fund Committee has announced it latest winners in the Heroes Fund Raffle. On June 11th, the Committee selected Shellie Leder to win the $1,000 prize and John Silverman to win the $500 prize.

April winners were:
Patti Clancy - $1,000
Tom Clarke - $500 raffle prize.

May winners were:
John Silverman - $1,000
American Legion Post 681 - $500 Prize.

Heroes Fund Announces Help Our Heroes Raffle
On January 16, 2007 the Advisory Committee Members of the Heroes Fund held a Kick-off for the Help Our Heroes Raffle. The raffle will award $45,000 in cash prizes. The raffle will benefit the Heroes Fund that was established in 2007. The Fund provides one time financial support for any military family, current or honorably discharged, whose primary breadwinner has served in a combat zone or, if the serviceman/woman is unmarried, to the parents or family members with whom he/she resides and to provide grants to various veteran’s non-profit organizations. persons residing in Butler, Warren, Hamilton, Clermont and Montgomery Counties or to non-profits serving this group of qualified residents.

Raffle tickets are $100 and are available through the Community Foundation. Only 1500 raffle tickets will be sold and winners do not need to be present to win. The $25,000 Grand Prize, will be awarded on November 11, 2008 with several other drawing being held between April and November.
