The event scheduled for July 13, 2008 is open to all members of our
community and will feature music from the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony
Orchestra, as well as the West Chester Symphony. At the end of the evening,
guests will enjoy a firework display.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Lakota One to One Mentoring Program
Funding of this project expands the site based mentoring program that helps
to find, train and supervise new mentors for students in West Chester and
Liberty Townships. The program provides a positive difference in the lives
of children through professionally supported one-to-one relationships with
an adult volunteer. In addition to working with students to increase their
self-esteem and develop new skills, volunteers provide tutoring and other
academic support.

Emergency Home Repairs
This grant provides funds to offset the costs of essential home repairs for
low-income residents in West Chester and Liberty Townships. Repairs are made
to homes that threaten the immediate health and well-being of the resident
or the structural integrity of their home. The repairs allow for citizens to
remain safe and independent in their own home.

Hydraulic Lift
Support was provided to purchase a hydraulic lift that will allow volunteers
the ability to increase their productivity in sorting and organizing the
generous donations from the community.

Project 2 Empower
This grant was awarded to enhance the program that continues to link
individuals and families with the skills and resources that encourages them
to become more self-sufficient. The program strengthens a family's ability
to withstand stress while working to improve their economic stability.
Participants develop an individualized service plan that sets financial,
emotional, and physical goals.
West Chester Township Historical Society

Station Road School House Renovation Project
The West Chester Township Historical Society leveraged their donation from
the Foundation and other supporters to help renovate the Station Road
Schoolhouse. Foundation support was earmarked to help off-set the cost for
the materials to restore the windows of the historic schoolhouse.
West Chester Township Police Department

Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs
The West Chester Police department invites youth from the Lakota School
District to participate in an outdoor activity with police officers. While
teaching them the sport of fishing, the officers discuss the dangers of
drugs, alcohol and delinquent behaviors with the students. Funds are used
to support the purchase of fishing gear for the participants.
