Scholarship Application Process

The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty has a variety of scholarships available to students looking to pursue higher education. Descriptions of scholarships currently available through the Foundation can be found on the following pages or online at www.wclfoundation.com. Some of the scholarships have restrictions to students from a specific high school or area of residence. Most scholarships require the applicant to live in West Chester or Liberty Townships. Additional restrictions and requirements are listed with each description. For more information about scholarship opportunities, please call the Foundation’s office at 513-874-5450.

How to apply:

  • IMPORTANT: Review each scholarship eligibility criteria carefully, as they are all different
  • Place a check in the box next to each scholarship you are interested in applying for

       (you must meet the eligibility criteria)

  • Fill out the scholarship application included in this packet
  • Submit the completed application packet along with
    • School transcripts of grades, if applicable
    • Two (2) recommendations from school counselor, coach, employer or teacher
    • Parent/guardian signed IRS tax forms from 2014, if applicable

How to submit:

Completed application and materials (essays, transcripts, recommendations and/or IRS tax forms) should be scanned into a single Adobe PDF file and emailed to Karen@wclfoundation.com.

All application materials (essays, transcripts, recommendations and/or IRS tax forms) must be submitted together, with this application form. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. All applications must be received prior to March 2, 2015. At this time, the Foundation is unable to accept applications via fax.

Scholarship applications are reviewed by The Foundation’s Education and Scholarship Committee and/or specific committees established on behalf of the scholarship. All information provided within the application will be held in strict confidence. During the review process, committee members may need to contact the applicant, parent/guardian or school administrator for additional information.

All applicants will be notified in writing whether or not they receive an award. Scholarship recipients who attend Lakota Schools will be presented with their award at the Senior Award Night in May.  Checks are made payable to the schools’ financial aid office and will be sent directly to the school.
