Dana Spangler Scholarship Fund
Known as Dani to her family and friends,
Dana was active both in school and community activities and was well liked
by everyone. In
1987, in the summer following her eighth grade year, Dana’s life was
claimed by an automobile accident.
Just making the freshman volleyball
team at Lakota High School, Dana had enjoyed a variety of sports.
She played soccer, but her real passion was for volleyball and softball.
The scholarship fund for Dana was set
up to honor and remember Dana as a vibrant, young lady who had a great
love of life. Through the years, this Scholarship Fund has awarded
more than 25 scholarships totaling in excess of $6,000. Criteria
include: graduating senior from Lakota East High School; financial
need, and attending a college or junior college. Students receiving
this scholarship are awarded a $500 grant.
