The Childhood Brain Tumor Fund
The Childhood
Brain Tumor Fund was established in 2004 by Jeff & Cathy Stevens in honor
of their son Bradley S. Stevens, born May 6 1995 and a survivor
of a pilocytic astrocytomas brain tumor on March 18, 2002.
The mission
of the Childhood Brain Tumor Fund is to provide economic assistance to needy
families with a child afflicted with this condition. In addition, our intent
is to provide funds or grants to focused and specific research efforts in
support of finding the cause of childhood brain tumors and/or improved surgical
resection techniques.
The Childhood Brain Tumor Fund would like to support the following:
Needy families with a child afflicted with a brain tumor
Post-operative therapy (physical, occupational, and psychological) is a critical
component to the recovery period and medical insurance is often limited in the
coverage in this area longer-term.
Pediatric brain tumor research
The opportunity to provide funds or grants to specific research efforts associated
with identifying the cause of brain tumors in children or improved surgical techniques
that improve the overall operation/resection and benefit the long-term quality
of life for surviving children.
