Bob Lawhorn Education Fund

Bob Lawhorn, a Norwood High School graduate, was a spirited man who cared about others throughout his life. Bob reached out to people from all walks of life which was demonstrated by his caring smile, generosity, humor, and real compassion. His zest for life was felt by everyone he touched.

In 2005, Bob passed away after a short courageous fight with cancer. Bob valued the importance of education and his legacy will live on through the Bob Lawhorn Education Scholarship established at The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty. Awarded to a graduate of Norwood High School, this full tuition scholarship to the University of Cincinnati is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate enrollment.

A self made man, Bob not only valued education but also the importance to give back to your community. Bob’s love of life was contagious. This Scholarship allows Bob’s spirit to live on through the young students fulfilling their educational aspirations.

To be eligible applicants must demonstrate community and volunteer involvement, financial need, and a minimum accumulative GPA of 2.5 (Student must attend or be a graduating senior at Norwood High School, provide IRS Tax Forms and FAFSA Documents).
