The Square at Union Centre

This August we will have a beautiful, new, two-acre park in the downtown Union Centre area of West Chester!  The Square at Union Centre will be the scene of the Annual Boulevard Bash, Business “After Hours” Parties in the Park, the Annual Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run and Parade, concerts, afternoon lunches outside and much more.  The Square will feature wireless internet access…a great opportunity to step out of the office yet stay in contact with your world!

The Square will be built with tax increment financing – a special tax levied on businesses in a particular geographic area to fund infrastructure improvements to that area.  And, while the Township is able to build The Square with TIF dollars, they are not permitted to use these funds to maintain and operate the Park.  Thus, an endowment fund has been established at The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty to maintain and operate The Square.  Naming rights for various features in the park are now being sold to fund this endowment.  Don’t miss this opportunity to leave a legacy and become a part of history in our downtown area.
